Creamy Dijon Sauce is one of those versatile sauces that helps transform ordinary dishes into the extraordinary. A little bit hollandaise inspired, this easy to make, creamy, tangy sauce is definitely on the lighter side, and pairs well with so many favorite veggies, proteins, and starches.
I am literally obsessed with this savory Dijon cream sauce recipe.
It's so simple to make, yet it delivers an amazingly bold flavor with just a few basic ingredients. It gets heated in the microwave (no stovetop or whisking involved!), makes a lot, and goes well with so many of our favorites--from basic family staples like chicken nuggets, french fries, and fish sticks--to the more sophisticated, like steamed and roasted veggies, grilled proteins, rice dishes and more.
A good, bold sauce can be a total gamechanger with any meal--especially if you have picky eaters. Do my kids like eating pork tenderloin? Absolutely not! But they don't mind it so much when they get to dip it in this delicious creamy Dijon mustard sauce!
My absolute favorite way to enjoy this sauce though is with asparagus. These two totally rock together!
No matter how I prepare the asparagus (blanched, air fried, roasted, etc.), it always tastes amazing with this easy to make sauce. There's just something so palatable and pleasing about the creamy Dijon and how it pairs with asparagus' unique flavor and texture in each savory bite.
There's also nothing better than having a little extra Dijon cream sauce on your plate at Easter to dip your ham and rolls into! Yum!
Easy, make ahead recipe- Creamy Dijon Sauce is so simple to make. Unlike most Dijon sauces out there, there's no heavy whipping cream to contend with. You literally mix the 5 ingredients with a spoon in one microwave safe bowl (to make life easier), heat it right away, or chill it and heat later. That's it! Simple ingredients- This recipe uses light sour cream for a tangy cream base, which then gets mixed with 4 other staple ingredients, including crushed red pepper for a little extra kick. There's no onion to chop and no butter to melt. This one is easy peasy. Very versatile & kid approved- Creamy Dijon mustard sauce can elevate any meal in the snap of a finger! From pork tenderloins and steaks, to chicken cutlets and potatoes, this peppy sauce pairs well with them all! And having that little dip cup sure does work wonders with kids. When they can dip it, they're more likely to eat it! Makes a lot and keeps well- This recipes yields about 2 cups when warm. If you don't use it all, it keeps well in the fridge for up to one week! Simply heat it up again in the microwave. |
