Why You’ll Love It
There are just 5 ingredients in this treat, making Garlic Ranch Pretzels an easy snack to shop for and make.
Speaking of making, did you know that they also make a great gift? Make them for friends and put them in a tin for the holidays (it’s ok to ditch the cookies every once in a while). Give them to your hubby as part of a cheer basket along with his favorite brew for Father’s Day. Show up with them at that next potluck or teacher’s luncheon. Make them for yourself because you deserve it!
The list goes on and on, but one thing is clear: whether you gift them or treat yourself, you will be making them again– and soon. Because they are… JUST. THAT. GOOD.

Ingredients for Garlic Ranch Pretzels
- 1 (16 oz.) bag Wege Sourdough Broken Pretzels (if you can’t find Wege, any broken up sourdough pretzel will do)
- 2 tablespoons dry ranch seasoning & dressing mix (or 1 packet)
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon lemon & pepper seasoning
- 3/4 cup cooking oil (I use vegetable, but feel free to experiment here)
How to make Garlic Ranch Pretzels
You’ll want to gather the following equipment:
- large mixing bowl
- small mixing bowl
- spouted glass measuring cup with handle
- measuring spoons
- mixing spoons
- large rimmed cookie sheet/baking pan
- spatula
Preheat your oven to 225 degrees Farenheit.
Empty the entire bag of pretzels into your large mixing bowl. Break up any really large pieces with your hands.
Next, mix all the dry seasonings together in a small bowl.
Measure the cooking oil in a spouted measuring cup (I use Pyrex). Then add the seasoning to this measuring cup and stir well. The seasonings will naturally want to sink to the bottom of the cup, so it is important to mix this thoroughly so you don’t end up with a clump.
Pour the oil mixture over the pretzels. Use a large mixing spoon to mix. Spend a little bit of time here to make sure all of the pretzels are coated with the oil and seasonings. This is really important because if some of the pretzels don’t get coated, they will dry out in the oven, and we don’t want that!
Now it’s time to create some pretzel magic!
Line your large rimmed baking pan with heavy duty foil (I do this for easier clean up). Then arrange the dressed pretzels in a single layer on the pan so that they’re not overlapping. Drizzle any remaining liquid from the bowl over the pretzels. Trust me: you don’t want to let any of that goodness go to waste!
Now bake those pretzel beauties in your preheated 225 degree oven. They will bake in there for 1 hour. Every 20 minutes, stir them gently with a spatula. Stir them once more when they are done, then allow them to cool on the pan for 10-15 mintues before transferring to a container.
Garlic Ranch Pretzels Leftovers?
They won’t last long! Try them with your favorite beer– or simply by themselves. Your taste buds will be delighted either way!
Store in an airtight container. Enjoy within one week. No need to refrigerate.
A Note About This Recipe
I have always loved flavored pretzels. I was working in a grocery store when Rold Gold came out with their flavored tiny twists and I was OBSESSED with them. Sometimes I would go through an entire bag on my shift! (I look back on this now as a grown adult and realize this was not the best decision.)
Then I discovered Snyder’s of Hanover’s flavored pretzel pieces and I was in heaven. So when my MIL introduced her Garlic Ranch Pretzels to me, I was blown away. I didn’t know you could make your own and that they could taste so good–and even better–than the store bought ones!
Don’t get me wrong, I still love buying flavored pretzels (especially Snyder’s) but this recipe was definitely a game changer!

Note
I use vegetable oil for this recipe, but feel free to experiment with different cooking oil varieties.
I often use Hidden Valley Ranch's dry seasoning mix, but have also tried Great Value's version from Walmart. Both taste good in this recipe.
You can buy any brand of sourdough pretzels, but I strongly suggest trying to buy broken ones. It cuts out a lot of the grease work!
