Transfer mixture to pie shell; smooth to edges (filling will be very high).
Carefully seal pie with a few layers of plastic wrap. Then use the plate to transfer the plate and pie to the freezer.
Freeze pie for a minimum of 8 hours before serving, but for easier slicing, overnight is best.
Allow pie to sit on counter 30-40 minutes before serving for fruit and filling to slightly defrost.
Notes
Blueberries, raspberries, and/or blackberries are best for this easy no bake recipe because they're bite-sized and don't require slicing. This helps to control the overall moisture in the filling. After rinsing your fruit, allow it to dry on paper towels before using.
To keep your berry cool whip pie perfectly fresh, simply wrap the top tightly in plastic wrap and store it directly in the freezer. When you're ready for dessert, let this sweet icebox pie sit on the counter for about 30 to 40 minutes before serving.
Cool Whip Pie will keep in the freezer for up to 1 month when sealed tightly with plastic wrap.
