Ingredients
2sticks(1 cup) butter
1cupwhite granulated sugar
1cupbrown sugarfirmly packed
4eggsat room temperature
1tablespoonpure vanilla extract
1cupflourspooned and leveled into the measuring cup for best results
1cupunsweetened cocoaspooned and leveled into the measuring cup for best results
1teaspoonsea salt
1 & ½cupssemi-sweet chocolate chipsreserve ¼ cup of this for the topping

Instructions
Preheat oven to 350℉. Make sure oven rack is positioned in the middle.
In large bowl, microwave butter. Cool slightly; add white and brown sugars and mix well.
Stir in room temperature eggs and vanilla until just combined; set aside.
In a separate bowl, whisk the dry ingredients together until fully incorporated.
Add dry ingredients to wet bowl; stir until just combined.
Stir in 1 & ¼ cups chocolate chips (reserve additional ¼ cup for next step); stir until just combined.
Pour brownie batter into prepared pan. Gently press reserved ¼ cup chocolate chips on top.
Bake 25-30 minutes or until slightly set.
Remove pan from oven and allow to cool for 15 minutes (brownies will continue to bake and set during this time).
Remove brownies from pan and enjoy!
Notes
Store homemade fudgy brownies in an airtight container and keep unrefrigerated for up to 1 week. If the brownies are cut into squares, wrap them in plastic wrap first to avoid drying.You can freeze individual squares or the entire pan (divided into two half batches) for up to 3 months. Wrap in freezer safe packaging and defrost overnight in the fridge.Knowing when brownies are done baking can be a little tricky.
