Baked Apple Crisp is easy to make and tastes so delicious! There's no crust to contend with and no tricky mixing or layers. It's just a good old-fashioned, wholesome recipe that checks off all the boxes: full of fresh apple flavor, fall spices, brown sugar, and a great crumble that's easy to whip together.

Instructions
Before starting:Preheat oven to 375 degreesLightly grease 2-quart casserole
Wash apples; peel the skins. Then use a paring knife to halve and core the apples. Slice apples into even-sized slices, aiming for ¼ inch thickness or less. Then place the sliced apples into a lightly greased 2-quart casserole dish.
Melt the butter in a microwaveable safe dish. Then pour it into the mixing bowl. Add the flour and stir to combine.
Add the brown sugar and spices; stir to combine.
Sprinkle the topping over the apples.
Bake uncovered at 375 degrees for 30-35 minutes or until apples are fork-tender and topping is slightly crusty and brown.
Let stand 5 minutes before serving. Serve warm as is or with a scoop of your favorite vanilla ice cream.
Cover leftovers with foil or store in an airtight container. Refrigerate for up to 3 days.
To reheat, cover with aluminum foil and place in a 325 degree oven for 15-20 minutes or until heated through.
Notes
I prefer Gala or Honeycrisp apples for this recipe.Whichever apples you choose, take time to make sure they are sliced thin and uniform. For a stronger molasses flavor, use dark brown sugar in the crumble topping.
