Nothing says fall like this delicious Baked Apple Crisp! From its buttery, sugar-spiced crumbly top, down to the sweet and juicy apples underneath, this is such a scrumptious treat!

Baked Apple Crisp might secretly be my favorite though. It's so easy to make and tastes so delicious! There's no crust to contend with and no tricky mixing or layers. It's just a good old-fashioned, wholesome recipe full of fresh apple flavor.

With this recipe, we cut out the crust middleman and go right for the best part: those wonderful, juicy, baked apples. They're so abundant in this dessert, it's an apple lover's dream!

- flour
- brown sugar- sweet with a hint of molasses flavor for the topping
- cinnamon & nutmeg- warm spices for the topping
Instructions
For a more detailed set of instructions, see the printable recipe card below
- Preheat oven to 375 degrees
- Halve and core the apples. Then slice and place into a lightly greased 2-quart casserole dish.
- Melt butter; then mix with flour in a mixing bowl.
- Add the brown sugar and spices; stir to combine. Sprinkle the topping over the apples.
- Bake uncovered for 30-35 minutes or until apples are fork-tender and topping is slightly crusty and brown.
Helpful tips
- Try to keep the apple slices uniform so that they bake evenly. Aim for thin slices (¼ inch thickness or less) so that the fruit is fork-tender after it bakes.
- The topping mixture will be crumbly. You might choose to use a pastry blender to help incorporate the ingredients.
