With a delicious and simple cinnamon sugar coating, these easy to make, Candied Mixed Nuts are sweet and salty, and have an irresistible crunch that any nut lover will absolutely savor!

candied mixed nuts with drinks

Sometimes I get in the mood for a sweet and salty crunch.

That's when I go to my spice rack, grab my cinnamon and sugar, and make this super delicious Candied Mixed Nuts recipe.

With peanuts, cashews and almonds, this easy snack has my top three nut favs (though any combination of nuts can be used--some popular alternatives are walnuts, pecans and pistachios).

The added bonus is that the house smells amazing (like a cinnamon-sugar wonderland kind of amazing) for the rest of the day after these bake in the oven!

🗨️FAQ

What is the difference between glazed and candied nuts?

Glazed nuts often have corn syrup and sugar (which creates that shiny glaze), while candied nuts use egg white and sugar.

Do candied nuts need to be refrigerated?

That's only necessary if you don't plan on enjoying the nuts within 2 weeks. They will keep in the fridge for up to 3 months. You can also freeze them in proper packaging for up to 6 months.

Why are my candied nuts soft?

When they first come out of the oven, they're a little soft, but as they cool, they will become crunchy and hard.

Notes

I've found that a combination of lightly salted nuts works well in this recipe. I would avoid using full salted nuts. There is salt in the cinnamon/sugar mixture to cut the sweetness of the coating. Keep that in mind when you choose your nuts for this recipe!
Any nut will work well in this recipe. Feel free to mix it up and use your favorite(s). When my MIL makes these for the holidays, she uses pecans and walnuts!
