This recipe makes the perfect lunch, party appetizer, game day treat, slumber party nosh or late night snack. It was inspired by my Pepperoni Pizza Dip, which is always a crowd pleaser. 👪Why you'll love this easy pizza recipe
| Super easy recipe- Delish pepperoni pizza crescent rolls only take about 10 minutes to make and 10 minutes to bake! Only 6 ingredients- It doesn't get much simpler when you want to whip up a delicious and fun snack or appetizer! Kid and family approved- Kids not only enjoy eating these, they also enjoy helping to assemble them! |
🥘Just 6 ingredients needed

- Refrigerated brand name crescent dough- I recently tried Pillsbury's reduced fat for these and the pizza rolls came out great...we didn't miss the extra fat and calories!
- Pizza sauce- I typically use pizzeria style pizza sauce for this recipe because it's a little thicker and more flavorful
- Pizza seasoning- my fav is McCormick's Get a Pizza This! You can make this recipe without it, but it does add additional flavors that take these pizza roll ups to the next level.
- Pepperoni slices- I often use turkey pepperoni to save on fat and calories
- String cheese- Use your favorite mozzarella brand, or take things up a notch with pepper jack string cheese!
- Freshly grated parmesan cheese- provides a little saltiness and crunch on top

🔪How to make Pepperoni Pizza Crescent Rolls

- Step 1: Unroll crescent dough, separate, and arrange on prepared pan.

- Step 2: Spread on pizza sauce and sprinkle with pizza seasoning.

- Step 3: Layer 2-4 slices of pepperoni on top of the sauce. Then place half of a string cheese on top.

- Step 4: Roll up pizza rolls and bake for 10 minutes.
Hint: These fun little handheld pizza roll ups are delicious when dipped in warm pizza or marinara sauce. They're also really good with ranch.
🌿Healthy ingredient substitutions
- Load up on Veggies: Swap out the pepperoni entirely (or just use half) and replace it with finely diced bell peppers, mushrooms, or a sprinkle of fresh spinach. It's an easy way to sneak in extra vitamins and fiber!
- Opt for Lighter Cheese: To cut down on saturated fat and calories, choose part-skim or reduced-fat mozzarella string cheese instead of the full-fat versions. You'll still get that perfect, gooey cheese pull!
- Choose a Smarter Sauce: Keep an eye out for low-sodium or "no sugar added" pizza sauces at the grocery store. You can even use a marinara sauce that has hidden, blended veggies to make these roll-ups extra nutritious.

📖Pepperoni Pizza Crescent Rolls Variations
Feel free to add your favorite pizza toppings. From diced mushrooms, peppers, onions, olives and more, the possibilities are endless! Here are some other fun variations:
- The All-White Cheese & Garlic Roll: Skip the red pizza sauce and brush the inside of the crescent dough with melted garlic herb butter instead. Layer with your pepperoni and wrap it up around an all-white cheese stick, like provolone or mozzarella, for a rich and savory twist.
- Meat Lover's Bites: For a heartier, flavor-packed snack, add a small spoonful of cooked, crumbled Italian sausage and a sprinkle of crispy bacon bits right on top of the pepperoni before rolling everything up tightly.
- Spicy Pepper Jack Kick: If you want to bring the heat, swap out the traditional mozzarella for a pepper jack string cheese and tuck a few slices of pickled jalapeños inside the dough before baking.

💬Pizza Roll Ups FAQ
Croissants are a form of puff pastry, whereas crescent dough is a type of bread. I wouldn't recommend croissant dough for this recipe as it would be too much like eating a pastry.
Yes! To make these in the air fryer, place the assembled crescent rolls in the basket in a single layer (you may need to work in batches). Air fry at 350°F for 6-8 minutes, or until the dough is golden brown and the cheese is melted.
These are best enjoyed freshly baked, but you can assemble them a few hours ahead of time. Keep them covered tightly in the refrigerator until you are ready to bake them. You may need to add an extra minute or two to the baking time if they are going straight from the fridge to the oven.
Yes, you can freeze them before baking! Assemble the rolls, place them on a baking sheet, and freeze until solid. Then, transfer them to a freezer-safe bag for up to 2 months. When you're ready to eat, you can bake them straight from frozen, just add a few extra minutes to the baking time.

This is my family's favorite game day/tailgate snack. Sometimes we use pepper jack string cheese instead of the mozzarella. We really like dipping these in ranch. The best!

We love them with ranch too!

Thanks for the tip on using the low fat crescent rolls. I sometimes avoid eating them because I think they're high in fat for how little they are. I can't wait to try this.

They really taste good with the reduced fat. I feel the same way about the crescent rolls. Come back and let me know how you liked the recipe!
