🥘Ingredients

- sundried tomato basil wrap- choosing a flavored wrap adds an extra layer of seasoning to every bite, making the meal feel cohesive
- turkey lunchmeat or leftover turkey (sliced very thin)- using thinly sliced turkey provides a lean, high-protein base that keeps the wrap light but satisfying
- fresh mozzarella pearls- these creamy pearls add a rich texture and mild flavor that perfectly balances the tangy elements of the wrap
- roasted red peppers- these add a smoky sweetness and essential moisture, ensuring your wrap stays juicy without becoming soggy
- fresh basil & garlic- this classic herb combination provides an aromatic punch that elevates the recipe with authentic Italian flair
- balsamic glaze- a drizzle of this glaze offers a hit of acidity and sweetness, tying all the savory ingredients together; only use a thick balsamic glaze rather than a thin balsamic vinegar--the glaze clings to the ingredients better, ensuring you get that tangy punch in every bite without it leaking out of the bottom of the wrap.
- salt & pepper- to taste
See recipe card for quantities.
🔪Instructions

- Step 1: Rub sliced garlic clove over wrap. Pile on the turkey and mozzarella.

- Step 2: Add roasted red peppers and basil. Then sprinkle on salt and pepper to taste.

- Step 3: Drizzle a thin layer of the balsamic glaze over the ingredients.

- Step 4: Roll up the wrap, slice in half, and enjoy!
Hint: For a tight, café-style wrap, fold in the sides first and roll from the bottom up while pulling the filling toward you to ensure it stays secure and easy to eat on the go.
To make the wrap easier to work with, warm it in the microwave for 30 seconds between two slightly damp paper towels just before using it in this recipe.
🥣Substitutions
- Low-Carb / Keto- swap the tomato basil wrap for large butter lettuce leaves or a low-carb tortilla to reduce the carb count while keeping the fresh Italian flavors
- Protein Alternative- if you don't have turkey, rotisserie chicken or thinly sliced prosciutto works perfectly as a savory, high-protein substitute
- Vegetarian Option- replace the turkey with tomato slices or marinated artichoke hearts for a hearty, plant-based version of this caprese classic
📖Variations
- Zesty & Spicy- add red pepper flakes or sliced banana peppers to the filling for a spicy kick that balances the creamy mozzarella
- Gourmet Deluxe- elevate the wrap by adding easy cheesy guacamole or crispy fried onions for a richer texture and deeper savory flavor
- Kid-Friendly Crunch- stir in some crushed potato chips just before serving to add a fun, salty crunch children will love

🍽Equipment
- Chef's Knife & Cutting Board
- Measuring Cups & Spoons
If you prefer a warm wrap, using a panini press or a cast iron skillet for a quick 1-2 minute sear will add a "gourmet" crunch and help melt the mozzarella pearls slightly.
🍶Storage
When stored in an airtight container, these turkey caprese wraps stay fresh for 1 to 2 days. After 48 hours, the fresh basil and peppers may cause the tortilla to become soggy.
It is not recommended to freeze these wraps once assembled. The roasted peppers and mozzarella pearls contain high moisture levels that turn "mushy" and lose their texture when thawed.
For maximum freshness, use containers that provide a leak-proof and airtight seal to prevent the tortilla from drying out or absorbing fridge odors.
💭Top tip
For the brightest flavor, always use chilled ingredients. Slicing the turkey and draining the mozzarella pearls while they are cold helps the wrap maintain its structure and prevents the fresh basil from wilting.
🗨️FAQ
The best way to prevent a soggy wrap is to pack the balsamic glaze and drizzle it on just before serving. Additionally, wrapping the finished product in parchment or wax paper rather than plastic wrap allows the ingredients to "breathe," which prevents moisture build-up.
Absolutely! This wrap is a high-protein, nutrient-dense meal option. By using lean turkey breast and fresh mozzarella, you get a balanced boost of protein and calcium that is much lighter than a traditional sub sandwich.
For the best results, use fresh mozzarella pearls or "ciliegine". These small, bite-sized balls are easier to distribute evenly throughout the wrap than a large sliced log, ensuring you get a creamy, mild bite in every mouthful without making the wrap too bulky to roll.
